It all begins with a conversation...

Are you wanting to know a little more about what a session would look like with me? Or are you wanting to lock in a session?  Let's chat! You can easily get in touch with me by clicking here to send me an email!  I would love to hear a little about yourself or your family.  Whether you're expecting or have just had a new baby, your precious bundle is a year older and you're desperate to capture the magic of your babies' childhoods, or it has just been far too long since you had some family portraits taken, I want to share in the excitement with you!  Together we will discuss any visions you have for your session and briefly discuss your exciting experience ahead.

Prior to your Session

Leading up to your session I will be in touch to discuss any queries you may have and to help you with your outfit planning.   Even if you feel totally at home with styling it is always nice to know you're on the right track.  And if you have absolutely no idea I would love to help! Please feel free to contact me at any stage or send me photos of outfits you might be contemplating.  I have a lot of experience in this area and have some great tips I can give you to make your portraits extra beautiful.

At this time we will also discuss potential locations for your session.  Do you have a certain image (no pun intended) in your head about where you picture (yep there I go again) your images being taken?  Or would you love to have the images taken in your home?  Let me know what you envisage for your images and I will bring in my creative vision to bring it to life.

Your Session

Sessions usually take place in either the picturesque Mount Dandenong Ranges or in your home if you have opted for a home newborn session.  I have many beautiful locations in the Ranges that I like to visit with my clients.   I am also happy to travel.  If you have a farm or a place that holds meaning for you where you would like your images taken let me know!

Your session is a time for you and your family to relax and enjoy your time together.  Try not to worry about what your children are doing.  Just soak up this time together away from the distractions of every day life and allow me to capture some beautiful moments between you and your family.

If you have any meaningful items you would like to have included in your portraits please feel free to bring them along.  Whether it be your son's bunny or your daughter's violin, personal touches can bring something extra special to your portraits.  Pets are also warmly welcomed!

Outdoor sessions usually take around 60 minutes, however I tend to set natural time limits while I am shooting and not focus on the clock.  In my experience sessions are over either once the kids (or husbands!!) have finished playing, or once the sun has gone down.

For newborn sessions I allow plenty of time to allow for feeding, cuddles and tending to older children as they navigate this new transition period in their lives.  I aim to make newborn sessions as relaxing, quiet and calm as possible.

Following your Session

Following your session, I will carefully and artfully prepare your portraits.   This can take up to three weeks as I put a lot of love and time into your gallery.

Once your gallery is complete I will send you through a slideshow which is one of my favourite parts of the process.   Your slideshow will be sent to you via email and you can watch it in the privacy of your home with your loved ones and enjoy the art we have created together.

Printed Artwork

Digital images are great for social media and storage purposes but there is nothing quite like having your images on your wall to look at as you go about your busy days.  I have access to professional laboratories which are not available to the public.  Prints from commercial printers are usually pretty disappointing (major understatement).  I printed an image through a commercial printer for my sister in law once as a last minute gift for a frame (I know - shame on me!) and it was so awful I threw it directly in the bin!!  The prints I can obtain via the artisans I work with on the other hand, are literal works of art.  If you would like images printed for your walls or an album please let me know and we can discuss how you can order through me.
